Shattered Veil is packed with hidden side Easter eggs that offer powerful weapons, free perks, bonus power-ups, and even friendly NPCs to help you survive the undead chaos. These aren’t required to beat the main Easter egg or unlock the final boss, but they give a massive advantage in-game. From summoning a laser-firing SAM AI to unlocking the Ray Gun MK2 every match, this guide breaks down every known side Easter egg currently available in Call Of Duty Zombies: Shattered Veil.
Each of these can be completed solo or in co-op (some are easier with help), and most can be repeated every game. If you’re hunting for hidden power-ups, legendary weapons, or even just bonus points, this is everything you need to know.
How to get a guaranteed free perk every match
The Sleepwalking Zombie Easter egg guarantees a free perk every game, but only if you follow a very specific process on Round 11.
Start by heading to the Study and interact with the grandfather clock. It will show at midnight only on Round 11. After this, head to Richtofen’s bed in the Director’s Quarters. Finish the round while prone on the bed, and when Round 12 begins, your screen will turn black.
When you wake up, ghostly footprints will appear. Follow them while crouch-walking through The Mansion. Zombies are asleep and will only attack if disturbed. The trail leads to a chest, but before opening it, sneak up to a sleeping armored zombie with colorful Z’s above its head and take the key.
If you do it correctly, the chest gives:
- 1 free perk
- Pack-a-Punch crystals
- Legendary ether tools
- Intel documents
If you mess up and alert the zombies, you still get a reward chest, but it’s much less impressive.
SAM laser trap Easter egg
This Easter egg lets you turn SAM, the AI near the Pack-a-Punch, into a lethal laser trap that will destroy zombies automatically.
Steps:
- Go to the Security Overlook and interact with the computer near SAM.
- On the same round, interact with one of three additional terminals:
- Study
- Overlook
- West Hallways
- Check the monitor: if it says System Cleaning, try a different one next round.
- If it displays a red error message, you’ve succeeded. Interact again to receive a floppy disc.
- Insert the floppy at the Pack-a-Punch computer. On the next round, wait for the SAM infected message.
- Interact again to activate the laser.exe trap.
This laser trap can be reactivated throughout the match for 2,000 points. The binary message under the screen even spells out “pew.”
Donut the friendly Doppelgast
Want a zombie-killing companion? This Easter egg lets you spawn Donut, a friendly Doppelgast that evolves over time.
Collect six Mr. Peaks bunny pieces:
- Garden Pond
- Conservatory
- Shem’s Henge
- Library
- Rear Patio
- Bottles
Bring the parts to the motor, assemble Mr. Peaks, and he jumps into a doghouse. This spawns Donut, a vermin spider that fights zombies. As it eats zombies, it transforms into a parasite, and eventually into a full Doppelgast that melees enemies. Donut explodes after 25 kills but is a massive help while active.
Ray Gun MK2 side quest
The Ray Gun MK2 can be unlocked for free every match starting from Round 10.
- Defeat a lab technician zombie in the mainframe chamber.
- Collect the floppy disc he drops and insert it in the East Foyer computer.
- Collect the printed document with a 4-letter word.
- Convert that word to a 4-digit code using the nursery chalkboard and enter it into the service tunnel keypad.
- Defeat the Doppelgast HVT that spawns and collect the severed arm.
- Insert the arm into the Ray Gun MK2 case in the armory.
The Ray Gun MK2 will unlock immediately.
Random perk from barbell Easter egg
If you’ve unlocked the Ray Gun MK2W variant, you can trigger a side Easter egg that rewards a random perk.
Steps:
- Complete the explosive canister quest at Shem’s Henge using the Ray Gun MK2W.
- Complete the associated upgrade quest:
- Pick up the sconce and bell
- Charge the final portal
- Place the bell at the bar
- Brain rot a zombie near the bar
- Pick up the metal hip flask
Now, interact with the bell at the bar and ring it 115 times. Yes, really. After the final ring, a random free perk drops.

Free Wunderwaffe DG-2
With the Ray Gun MK2W and flask in hand, shoot purple smoke under the nursery bed. This triggers three hostile blue wisps:
- East Balcony chair
- Spawn room rock
- Grand foyer portrait
Shoot at the ground to damage them and trigger their final form. Finally, go to the elevator shaft, look up, and shoot the purple wisp to drop the free Wunderwaffe DG-2.
You can now hold both wonder weapons at once.
Hardcore Z-Rex boss fight (round 100+)
Reaching Round 100 before activating the final boss triggers the hardcore version of the Z-Rex fight. The arena becomes gassed, and the Z-Rex behaves as if it’s in its final phase for all three phases of the fight.
While there’s no extra reward for completing this challenge, it’s a hidden reward for high-round players.
Free Pack-a-Punch 3 shotgun
Start with a blue Marine SP shotgun (which can be bought off the wall) and get the Death Perception perk.
- Go to the banquet hall and place the shotgun on the ghost wall.
- Shoot the left deer head, and the middle deer will show a field upgrade icon.
- Equip the matching field upgrade.
- Use it to kill zombies and fill the deer head.
- Defeat the Mangler that spawns.
- Pick the shotgun back up — it’s now epic.
Repeat the steps two more times:
- 2nd time makes it legendary
- 3rd time upgrades it to Pack-a-Punch level 1
- On solo, quit and reload to reach PAP level 3
Music Easter egg
Like all good Zombies maps, Shattered Veil hides a secret song. Find three Mr. Peaks headphones:
- Under Conservatory stairs
- Banquet Hall shelf
- Service Tunnel boxes
When activated, they play “Falling to Pieces” by Kevin Sherwood and Maluca.
Free equipment spawns every match
Useful lethal equipment spawns in fixed locations:
- Combat axes: Garden Pond stump, Nursery bed, near Pack-a-Punch
- Molotovs: Overlook shelf, Kitchen island
- LT53 Casimir: On a corpse in the service tunnel
These are crucial for side quests that require equipment use, like the canister missions.

- Max Ammo: Lower Terrace statue
- Insta-Kill: Elevator shaft ledge
- Nuke: On a rooftop in Service Tunnel
- Full Power: Study narrow window

Shooting all of them in a match guarantees maximum drops during your run.
